Moxibustion (moxa)

Moxa is a dried herb, which can be burnt.  It can be used in different ways such as directly on the skin or placed on the end of a needle. The heat from the Moxa penetrates into either a specific point, or meridian depending on how it is used. This has a result of  relaxing  the muscles and influences the energy (Qi) of the body. It is a very mild and gentle warmth that is often found to be relaxing and is used along side an acupuncture treatment. Moxa is often used for   treating impaired circulation  or symptoms relating to cold or damp in the body.
